Community Teaching Volunteer Program

Empowering Rural Education through Global Participation

Savanna Conservation Africa (SCA) is proud to offer an immersive Community Teaching Volunteer Program, inviting international educators and aspiring teachers to make a lasting impact in underserved rural communities across Southern Africa. This program is tailored for compassionate, skilled, and adaptable individuals eager to contribute to the educational development of primary and secondary school students in remote savanna regions.

Program Overview

The program is designed to support rural schools with limited resources and staff by placing volunteers directly in classrooms to assist local teachers or take full teaching responsibility where necessary. Participants engage in meaningful cross-cultural exchange while gaining hands-on experience in diverse educational settings.

Two volunteer placement durations are available:

  • 6 Weeks – Ideal for educators on sabbatical or university students on a summer break

  • 12 Weeks – Suited for professionals or gap-year participants seeking in-depth involvement
